The 6105G-001 Celestial Sunrise and Sunset is among the most conceptually ambitious watches Patek Philippe has produced — a 47mm Grand Complication that required more than five years of development, six patents, and 426 movement components to display not just the time but the actual configuration of the night sky as visible from Geneva. Caliber 240 C LU CL LCSO maps stellar positions, the Moon’s phases and orbit, the meridian passage of Sirius, and now adds sunrise and sunset time indications plus a patented corrector system that automatically adjusts all celestial displays during daylight saving transitions — a complication that solves a genuinely practical problem no prior astronomical watch has addressed. The 6105G-001’s space module-inspired case architecture signals its scientific ambition visually: sandblasted flanks, patterned case back, and correctors at two and four o’clock distinguish it immediately from any preceding Celestial.
The 47mm white gold case carries contrasting polished and sandblasted finishes with space module patterning on the flanks and solid case back, and correctors at two and four o’clock for seasonal time adjustment. The sapphire crystal dial depicts the northern hemisphere sky as seen from Geneva — stars, the Milky Way, an elliptical visibility horizon, the Moon with its phases and orbit — with dedicated hands for sunrise, sunset, date, and meridian passage, plus skeletonized white gold baton hands for mean solar time. A black composite X-patterned strap with white gold fold-over clasp completes the reference.
