OUR STORY
Trusted Luxury Watch Dealer
Welcome to the HeavyWrist story. A legacy built on dedication, craftsmanship, and an unwavering passion for horology. From a single workbench in 1941 to becoming America's trusted luxury watch dealer and premier destination for exceptional timepieces.
1941
The Foundation
HEAVYWRIST is three generations of one family. It starts with Arthur Pendleton — a watchmaker trained at one of London's most respected factories: J.W. Benson. When bombs destroyed it, Arthur found himself out of work — and without hesitation made the decision that would define three generations. He crossed the Atlantic with nothing but his tools and his knowledge. In the United States, it took time before his European credentials meant anything. But on the floor of the legendary Hamilton manufacture, skill speaks for itself — Arthur was eventually entrusted with the final calibration of the most complex gold chronometers.
1946
The Foundation
In the wake of a changing world, Kenji arrived in the United States from Japan with little more than a suitcase and an unwavering work ethic. Settling in the industrial heart of the East Coast, he found work on the assembly line of a prominent American watchmaking factory. For Kenji, this wasn't just labor; it was an apprenticeship in the soul of horology. Day after day, his hands mastered the microscopic ballet of gears, springs, and escapements. He learned that a watch was not merely a tool to tell time, but a heartbeat worn on the wrist—a testament to human ingenuity.
1968
The Standard of Excellence
When Hamilton moved its production to Switzerland, Arthur refused to take a place on someone else's assembly line — he started his own business. A distinguished sign appeared on the facade of his workshop: "Expert Watch Repair & Fine Timepieces." For years, the work spoke louder than any advertisement. Eventually, collectors from across the country began sending their most intricate Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, and Rolex calibers here. That sign became synonymous with absolute trust.
1988
The Boutique Era
Edward, Arthur's son, inherited the business — and transformed the workshop into a premium watch boutique. He sourced the most elusive pieces on the market, and built the kind of reputation that only decades of kept promises can create. People came to him for exactly that — the rarest Daytonas, the earliest Nautilus models, and the certainty that what they were buying was real.
2010
The Digital Shift
Ronald, Arthur's grandson, steered the business into the digital world. The result was HEAVYWRIST — a digital embodiment of seven decades of family expertise. We understood what mattered most: a person choosing rare watches online must be able to see every nuance of the dial and every detail of its condition. We photograph every timepiece so that you see it as clearly as if you were holding it in your hands.
Nowadays
A Worldwide Legacy
Today HEAVYWRIST is a global dealer with a flagship boutique. Rare watches are now accessible from anywhere in the world. The format has changed — but the philosophy remains the one Arthur established in 1968. Every watch we sell undergoes a rigorous multi-stage authentication, is accompanied by our personal certificate of authenticity and a full transaction guarantee. We only sell what we are prepared to put our name on.
