Description
The Lange 1 occupies singular ground in modern watchmaking. Launched in 1994 alongside three other references as the relaunch of the dormant A. Lange & Söhne maison, it became the defining German wristwatch of the era and remains the most recognizable expression of Saxon haute horlogerie. Its asymmetric dial — drawn from the golden ratio — and its outsize date, inspired by the Semper Opera House’s five-minute clock in Dresden, reshaped collector expectations for what a manufacture could be. Reference 191.032 is the rose gold execution of this enduring icon.
The 38.5mm case in 18-karat rose gold measures 9.8mm in thickness and frames an argenté silver dial with off-center hours and minutes, subsidiary seconds, outsize date at twelve, and AUF/AB power reserve indicator. The manual-wind Caliber L121.1, finished with hand-engraved balance cock and three-quarter plate in untreated German silver, delivers a 72-hour reserve. A brown alligator strap with rose gold pin buckle completes the piece.
