The 5270P-017 is the most visually arresting of Patek Philippe’s three 2026 perpetual calendar chronograph introductions — a reference that pairs the cool restraint of an entirely polished platinum case with a lacquered red dial of genuine chromatic intensity. Red dials on complications of this mechanical complexity are exceptionally rare within the Grand Complications catalogue, and the decision to apply the colour here — against platinum rather than gold, with a graduating black rim that deepens toward the chapter ring — produces a result that sits well outside the conservative dial conventions that have defined the 5270’s history. That the same caliber CH 29-535 PS Q and concave bezel case architecture underpins all three 2026 references makes the red dial’s impact entirely a function of colour, demonstrating precisely how much expressive range a single variable carries at this level of watchmaking.

The 41mm entirely polished platinum case carries a concave bezel and two-tier lugs, with a diamond set at six o’clock on the case flank. The lacquered red dial with black-gradient rim presents white gold faceted “obus”-style applied hour markers, a printed white tachymeter scale, and white gold dauphine hands. A day/month double aperture at twelve, day/night and leap year indicators, a moon phase, and a date hand at six complete the perpetual calendar.
