Description
The Panthère de Cartier is the house’s most enduring integrated bracelet watch design — introduced in 1983 and continuously coveted across four decades for its sinuous three-row bracelet architecture and the seamless way case and bracelet merge into a single fluid form. The midsize at 27mm occupies the most versatile position in the Panthère’s size hierarchy: substantial enough to register with clear presence on the wrist, refined enough to function as jewellery in contexts where the larger configuration would be excessive. The diamond-set bezel variant elevates this particular example into explicitly high jewellery territory, while the date complication — visible at three o’clock — confirms this as a watches-and-jewellery proposition rather than a purely decorative object. Vintage yellow gold Panthères with diamond bezels and three-row bracelets command sustained collector attention for both their design integrity and their material quality.
The 27mm yellow gold cushion-form case carries a single-row diamond-set bezel, with the characteristic three-row articulated yellow gold bracelet flowing directly from the case flanks. The cream dial presents bold black Roman numerals, a fine inner railroad minute chapter, and a date aperture at three o’clock. Blued-steel sword hands and a gold sapphire cabochon crown complete the dial. A Swiss quartz movement powers the watch.
