Description
Introduced 2020 marking 20th anniversary of Chronomètre à Résonance, reference RQ (Résonance Quatre) represents most radical rework since model’s 2000 debut through revolutionary Caliber 1520 architecture. The 378-component movement crafted entirely from 18k rose gold transitions from predecessor’s dual mainspring barrels to single barrel channeling energy through visible central differential splitting power into two independent gear trains each equipped with one-second frequency remontoir d’égalité providing constant torque to dual resonating balances ensuring isochronism for 28 hours within 42-hour reserve. Dial slightly openworked revealing differential bridge earning “Eiffel Tower” nickname celebrating mechanical achievement through visual transparency. Rose gold case paired with signature salmon dial represents quintessential F.P. Journe aesthetic combining warm precious metal with brand’s most iconic color, creating subtle visual harmony throughout composition.
The 40mm rose gold case measures 10.8mm thick maintaining compact proportions despite added complexity, winding crown relocated to 2 o’clock easing adjustment with clockwise rotation for left dial and counterclockwise for right dial enabling dual time zone functionality, pusher at 4 o’clock simultaneously resetting both small seconds while re-synchronizing balances. Salmon dial features delicate guillochage with two whitened silver guilloché subdials displaying left analog 24-hour indication and right analog 12-hour indication, twin small seconds at 6 o’clock, power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock, exposed differential mechanism at dial center, blued steel hands throughout. Black alligator leather strap with rose gold pin buckle completes presentation.
