Description
Produced between 2006 and 2010, part of Black Label Collection representing F.P.Journe’s most exclusive offering created specifically for existing F.P.Journe watch owners only, available exclusively through F.P.Journe boutiques and espaces worldwide. With limited annual production of approximately 1000 timepieces per year during this period across entire brand, F.P.Journe created even more exclusive timekeeper reserved solely for owners of F.P.Journe watches establishing unprecedented collector community exclusivity. Platinum case paired with distinguished blackened gold and whitened guilloché silver dial personalizes elegance beyond standard offerings. Octa Réserve de Marche represents world premiere as first mechanical movement with automatic winding and power reserve of over 120 hours when launched. Robust multi-purpose Octa represents F.P.Journe’s most highly evolved construction where different complicated mechanisms built into movement while Octa five-day automatics always measure 30mm x 5.5mm regardless of complication. Extended running duration achieved through extended capacity of spring development featuring meter-long mainspring just 1 millimeter thick integrated on same level as gear-train and escapement.
The 40mm platinum case (also available in 38mm) measures 10.6mm overall height featuring polished and brushed surfaces, screwed caseback with exhibition sapphire crystal revealing movement finishing, three-position crown. Blackened gold dial with whitened guilloché silver sub-dials features off-center hours and minutes, small seconds at 4:30, large date display, power reserve indicator at 7:30, blued steel hands, rhodium-plated steel hands. Automatic-winding Caliber 1300 crafted entirely in 18k rose gold features large-capacity mainspring barrel, meter-long mainspring measuring 1mm thick supplying average 850 grams of torque limiting balance amplitude loss to 25 percent over five-day period ensuring watch continues running another day or two beyond 120 hours though amplitude loss no longer guarantees precision timekeeping after that point, full-size free-sprung chronometer balance measuring 10.1mm diameter giving greater inertia and stability versus watches with long power reserves historically handicapped by small balances susceptible to shocks and disturbances, balance adjusted by five turning weights vibrating at steady 21,600 times per hour, balance with four adjustable inertia weights, flat Anachron micro-flamed balance spring, mobile stud holder, Nivatronic laser-welded to collet, pinned GE stud, in-line lever escapement with 15-tooth wheel, three-position crown with bi-directional automatic winding, date setting by turning crown in opposite ways in position 2, time setting with crown in position 3, instantaneous date change, slipping mainspring, off-center winding rotor in 22k gold with uni-directional winding providing extremely fast automatic winding requiring one and half hours on Chappuis cyclotest for over five days running, 120-hour power reserve delivering chronometric precision fully wound, circular stripes on bridges, baseplate partly circular grained, gilt engravings, polished screw heads with chamfered slots, pegs with polished rounded ends, steelwork with polished chamfers. Black alligator leather strap with platinum deployant buckle.
