Description
Gérald Genta’s 1976 Nautilus revolutionized luxury watchmaking by proving stainless steel could command gold-watch pricing—a marketing gamble that shocked the industry and forever altered perceptions of sports watch value. The original “Jumbo” faced initial resistance due to its bold 42mm case (Measuring 42mm across the widest point (including the “ears”)), yet became the blueprint for integrated-bracelet luxury sports watches. The 3700/11 represents the second-generation variant produced from 1982 to 1990, featuring a narrower, more tapered 14mm bracelet compared to the earlier 3700/1’s 16mm width.
