Produced between 2006 and 2015, part of Black Label Collection representing F.P.Journe’s most exclusive offering created specifically for existing F.P.Journe watch owners only, available exclusively through F.P.Journe boutiques and espaces worldwide. With limited annual production of approximately 900 timepieces per year, F.P.Journe created even more exclusive timekeeper reserved solely for owners of F.P.Journe watches establishing unprecedented collector community exclusivity. In 1999 François-Paul Journe launched F.P.Journe Invenit et Fecit brand with Tourbillon Souverain representing first model in Souveraine Collection and only tourbillon wristwatch with remontoire or constant force device providing unique timekeeping performance in tourbillon that is still most accurate on market. In 2004 driven by thirst for timekeeping research and creative needs François-Paul Journe presented new generation of Tourbillon Souverain with remontoire and dead beat seconds where this model replaced existing Tourbillon Souverain with remontoire that became collector’s timepiece as only about hundred were produced giving this watch even more sought-after status. Tourbillon Souverain with remontoire and dead beat seconds endowed with characteristics and technical demands inherent to creations by F.P.Journe where mechanism uses remontoire or constant force device which brand values for its timekeeping performances and has now been enriched with independent dead beat seconds system representing unique feature on contemporary wristwatch providing more accurate read of precise time where French term for independent seconds called seconde morte or dead beat seconds stems from fact that hand remains motionless or dead for as long as second has not actually elapsed where hand thus indicates second only after it has actually past.

The 40mm platinum case (also available in 38mm) measures 9.9mm overall height featuring polished and brushed surfaces, screwed caseback with transparent sapphire crystal revealing beauty and sophistication of technical and aesthetic feat, two-position winding crown requiring 20 turns of crown for manual winding with time adjustment by crown in position 2. Blackened gold dial features whitened guilloché silver sub-dials with distinctive identity of F.P.Journe chronometers with steel circles screwed on face representing patented feature, hours and minutes display at 3 o’clock in whitened guilloché silver sub-dial, independent dead beat seconds display at 6 o’clock in whitened guilloché silver sub-dial, 42-hour power reserve indication at 12 o’clock perfectly counter-balancing independent seconds display, visible tourbillon cage at 9 o’clock with remontoire d’égalité constant force device, blued steel hands, rhodium-plated steel hands. Hand-wound manual-winding Caliber 1403 crafted entirely in 18k rose gold features tourbillon with constant force device and dead beat seconds representing Invenit et Fecit mechanism invented and made by François-Paul Journe, remontoire or constant force device comprises secondary wheel assembled on lever which swivels concentrically to cage of tourbillon where this lever stops principal wheel which carries second hand and transmits energy of barrel whereas auxiliary spring or equalizing spring gives its energy to escapement which then allows secondary wheel to release once per second and with repetition auxiliary spring is refueled by principal wheel, 15-tooth escape wheel, 90-degree anchor fork, balance with four inertia weights, flat Anachron balance spring with Breguet overcoil, pinned stud, free-sprung without regulator, spring pinned to collet, frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, inertia of 11.00 mgcm2, angle of lift of 52 degrees, amplitude of 280 degrees at 0 hours dial up and 280 degrees at 24 hours dial up, power reserve of 42 hours plus or minus 2 hours, 26 jewels, 193 components in movement, high-quality finishing with circular stripes on bridges, Geneva waves on baseplate, screw heads polished and bevelled, pegs with polished rounded ends.
